What is the Best Wireless Charger?October 7, 2019
Most good flagship phones in 2019 have Qi Wireless Charging capabilities. Chances are if you have a brand new phone it supports wireless charging. The only issue is manufacturers never include a wireless charger in the box. If you have never used this feature before, you don’t know what you are missing. There is something very futuristic about not having to plug a USB cable into a phone to charge it. With so many options out there it can be hard to make a decision and know what is the best wireless charger.
What is the Best Wireless Charger?
Firstly, what makes a good wireless charger? Like all tech, not all chargers are created equal.
Qi (pronounced Chee) Wireless is the standard that any charger you buy should have. There have been a few standards over the years, but the one that is universally accepted and improved upon is Qi Wireless. So much so, Apple was working on its own standard and decided it would be easier to use Qi.
Only look at chargers that support Fast Charging, there is no reason too. Have you tried charging a modern smartphone with a charger that doesn’t have fast charging?. I don’t recommend it, it’s painful. The standard for fast charging on Apple iPhones is 7.5W. On Android Devices it is up to 15W.
Those are the only 2 things you really need to worry about. All other features that manufacturers list are fluff. It’s always good to have USB-C if you have an Android, and Lightning for Apple. Not a deal-breaker if it doesn’t have those though.
Belkin Boost Up
Belkin has been making wireless charging accessories for a while now. They are very good at it, and the Belkin Boost Up is tailored towards people with iPhones. It will work with iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. The Boost Up fast charges iPhones at 7.5W and will charge everything else at 5W. So it will charge Android devices slowly.
As a bonus, it will also charge through 3 millimeter thick cases, and you can also charge Airpods 2. It comes with a charger brick and 5-foot cable. The only negative for me is its mostly plastic build and it feels cheap. Other than that its a decent Wireless Charger for iPhone owners.
Yootech Wireless Charger
With the Yootech you get the ability to charge almost everything. This thing ramps up to 15W for LG Phones, 10W for Samsungs, and 7.5W for iPhones. It even has a built-in cooling fan to help cool the charger and your phone.
You can charge your phone vertical or lay it horizontal, and there is an anti-slip coating on it. There is an LED indicator to show when a phone is charging. It comes with a charger and USB Type C to USB A for max power delivery. If you live in a house with iPhone, Android, and LG phones, this one is for you.
Native Union Drop XL
Best Wireless Charger for Everyone
The Drop XL is a dual coil wireless charger, meaning you can charge 3 devices at once. It has 10W charging for Android Phones and 7.5W for iPhones. The benefit of having a dual coil charge pad is that you can charge your wireless earbuds and phone, or watch and phone. Obviously that depends on your compatible wireless charging technology.
One great thing about the XL is its design. It’s sleek and somewhat stylish. Compared to the other chargers listed above, the Drop XL is a supermodel. The surface is an anti-slip silicone tread and it can charge through most phone cases. It also includes an AC adapter to power it. If you own multiple wireless charging compatible devices it’s hard to go past the Drop XL
Mangotek 4 in 1
Best Wireless Charger for an iPhone User
The Mangotek 4 in 1 is an Apple fans dream. It can charge your Apple Watch, iPhone, and Earpods simultaneously. It also has a USB out that you can use to charge anything else. The Mangotek is the ultimate bedside table accessory. One thing I really like about this charger is that they include a built-in Apple Watch Charger. Similar products need you to supply your original Apple Watch Charger.
This charge station has some heft to it as well. It feels well built and solid. It comes with a power adapter, and the built-in LED indicates when your devices are charging. The only drawback is the LED is pretty bright at night. The Mangotek 4 in 1 is a game-changer for your bedside table, you can throw 4 chargers out the window instantly.
Gaze Pad Pro
If you’re like me, you’re always on your computer. Currently, I have my phone connected to my PC and charging. It can be a bit annoying because I prefer the minimalist look in my workspace. The Gaze Pad Pro aims to address this issue. This mouse pad has 3 coils built into it to give it wireless charging capabilities. It’s big enough to use a mouse and charge the phone simultaneously.
Like the above, you get 10W, 7.5W and 5W compatibility. You can charge any Qi Wireless device. It has a USB C port on the left and right of the pad to allow for perfect placement. An LED indicator, indicates the current status of your charging device. The Gaze Pad Pro is made from PU leather and comes in 4 different colors, midnight blue, black, brown, and grey. It’s very sleek and luxurious and can add a touch of class and tech to your desk.

In my opinion, the Mangotek 4 in 1 is my pick for the Apple enthusiast. it’s hard to go past if you have a ton of Apple Devices. If you’re an Android user, I like the Native Union Drop XL.
