The Best Fitbit for Women

The Best Fitbit for Women

May 10, 2018 1 By Marvin

Let me start this off by saying that the best Fitbit for women in my opinion, is one that looks good on your wrist and helps with the daily struggles that everyone goes through, but sprinkles in a bit of female-friendly functionality.

So today we are going to be talking about the newly released Fitbit Versa, its overall functionality as well as how it compares to other fitness trackers/smartwatches in the ecosystem. PS I’m not going to talk about all the standard Fitbit stuff like Heart Rate Monitoring, Bluetooth Connectivity, Sleep Tracking and All Day Activity Tracking.

Hey Good Looking

The Fitbit Versa has got to be one of the best looking fitness trackers/smartwatches in the game at the moment and has a definite Pebble influence. Fitbit purchased Pebble a few years back and I have been waiting for their aesthetic to finally come through. If you don’t know who Pebble is, it’s definitely worth the google search and I will be covering Pebble in an article later.

The Fitbit Versa comes in three colors, grey, pink and black with matching silicone bands. If you are interested in splurging, there are two special edition watches that come in graphite and rose gold with charcoal and lavender woven bands respectively, They also come with the classic silicone band. The special edition, in my opinion, would be the best Fitbit for women because you can’t really go past the rose gold and lavender for the unique style and feel.

Function Follows Form

With its simple three button layout and square design, the Versa is easy to get your head around. It is also very light in relation to its competition. So light in fact, I guarantee at some point you will forget that you are wearing this bad boy. This makes it the best Fitbit for women because I know very few women that want a piece of lead on their wrist.

User Interface

To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of Fitbits UI. It’s not zippy and doesn’t have much processing power at all, which to be honest isn’t fair to bring up because if you wanted a pure smartwatch with a lot of processing power, you wouldn’t be looking at Fitbits to begin with. There are plenty of options out there for those that want that.

The Versa comes with a few preloaded exercise profiles aimed to cater to almost everyone. There is a menu that contains the usual Fitbit spam apps – don’t even get me started on the app store on this thing, it’s abysmal.

Feature Packed

The following list of features I have pulled straight from the Fitbit website.

  • On-Screen Work Outs
  • Connected GPS.
  • Music Experience
  • Bluetooth
  • Apps
  • Smartphone Notifications
  • 4+ Day Battery Life – My favorite feature by far
  • Heart Rate Tracking
  • NFC Payments – My second favorite feature
  • 15+ Exercise Modes
  • SmartTrack™
  • All-Day Activity
  • Personalized Reminders
  • Sleep Tracking & Stages
  • Swimproof & Tracks Swims
  • Female Health – why this is the best Fitbit for women, I will elaborate in the next section
  • Cardio Fitness Level
  • Guided Breathing Sessions
  • Customizable Clockfaces
  • Syncs Wirelessly
  • Accessory Bands
  • Dashboard

More features than you can poke a stick at and are pretty self-explanatory, I will elaborate on some of my favorite features.

  • 4+ Days Battery Life – There is nothing more annoying than plugging in another device before bedtime. 4+ Days of battery life is industry leading for an activity tracker/smartwatch, nothing even comes close.
  • NFC Payments – There is nothing more annoying than carting around a wallet on a run or at the beach. Being able to make payments with your wrist is a massive plus and will be something all devices in the next 5 years will start adopting. If you want to be an early adopter, then this is the perfect gateway device

Female Friendly

The feature that makes the Versa the best Fitbit for women is its “Female Health Tracking” feature. This allows women to track their menstrual cycle by keeping a record of their cycle and symptoms, Fitbit will take all that info and make cycle predictions and get more accurate the more you use it. Included with the app will be access to an exclusive female support community where you can talk about all the important stuff. Cool right?

Conclusion

Not only is the Versa the best Fitbit for women, it’s one of the best activity trackers on the market and will look great on almost anyone’s wrist male or female. If you are new to the Fitbit ecosystem this tracker is very user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.
